The PM MC module is part of the Ekinops 360 which offers customers unprecedented level of flexibility in a compact 2RU or 6RU shelf. The PM MC supports any transport protocol including Ethernet, SONET, SDH, or Storage on any of its ports. It offers future-proof migration path to any network with software selectable data rates of both the client and line ports. SFP pluggable interfaces allow the PM MC to support any media and any protocol from 100Mb to 2.7Gbps including Fast and Gigabit Ethernet, FDDI, OC-3/12/48, STM-1/4/16, 1/2G Fibre Channel, ESCON, FICON and OTU-1. The PM MC provides full 3R signal regeneration to any protocol within that range. It can be used as a WDM transponder or as a repeater and regenerator. The PM MC is hot swappable and takes one slot in the Ekinops chassis. SFP interfaces offer maximum flexibility, can be changed to match any application and help keep sparing inventory down.
