Aggregation and transport of four OC-48/STM-16 over OC-192/STM-64/G709 |
The PM 1004 is part of the Ekinops 360 and is an ideal solution for service providers
looking to maximize their optical network. It occupies two slots in the Ekinops Chassis and
utilizes Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) to aggregate and transport, cost effectively, four
OC-48/STM-16 inputs over a 10G signal. The line bit rate can be G.709 or OC-192/STM-64,
standard SONET/SDH signal.
Instead of allocating multiple wavelengths; one for each OC-48/STM-16 circuit in a DWDM
network, the PM 1004 can be used to aggregate four OC-48/STM-16 on one wavelength.
This reduces the number of wavelengths needed and the cost of the entire network.
The PM 1004 can be managed through SNMP or Ekinops Manager (EEM), which includes CLI and Ekinops java-based GUI Terminal. Digital Diagnostics Management (DDM) is supported for SFP, XFP and OTX interfaces.
