The PM1008 is part of the Ekinops 360 and is an ideal solution for transporting Gigabit and OC-x traffic in optical, DWDM and long haul networks. It is a 2-slot module that uses Time Division Multiplexing (TDM) to aggregate and transport up-to 8 Gigabit Ethernet or Fibre Channel inputs over a single 10G or OC-192/STM64 wavelength. Using aggregation reduces the number of wavelengths in any CWDM or DWDM network and lowers the cost of the entire network. A second version of the PM1008 is the PM1008DC (Daisy Chain). In addition to aggregation and transport, it offers add drop (ADM) functionality.
