PM 123V

SDI Video Aggregation and Transport over Optical Networks

The PM 123V is part of the Ekinops 360 platform. It aggregates up to three uncompressed SD-SDI video signals or up to three DVB-ASI or any combination of the two. The line rate is 1.25 Gb/s which is compatible with all of Ekinops' Gigabit Ethernet aggregation modules (PM 253, PM 1008, PM 1004V). Access ports can autosense between SD-SDI or DVB-ASI traffic. This Gigabit line rate can be directly transported over fiber or connected into the Gigabit Ethernet port of the PM 1004V or any module of the Ekinops 360 family with a Gigabit Ethernet port.

A combination of the PM 123V with the PM 1004V can aggregate up to 3 SD-SDI or 3 DVB-ASI and 4 HD-SDI over a single 10G wavelength. If it is used together with the PM 1008 module, it can aggregate up to 24 SDI signals on one 10G wavelength providing an extremely cost effective transport solution. Furthermore multiple wavelengths can be muxed together with CWDM or DWDM and transported over fiber for greater capacity of video traffic and in combination with other data (Ethernet) signals.

The PM 123V is hot-swappable and takes 2 slots in an Ekinops chassis. On the Client side it uses Coaxial BNC interfaces and on the Line side, it uses an SFP.

An optional Optical Supervisory Channel (OSC) is available for remote management. When the PM 123V is used together with the PM 1004V or the PM 1008, remote management can be achieved through an embedded 10Mb in-band data communication channel (DCC).
